Mike comes from New Orleans, Louisiana, where he attended Louisiana State University. An avid fisherman and dove and pig hunter, Mike was thrown into the construction business when Hurricane Betsy hit New Orleans in 1965. He came to Houston in 1967 during the building boom, and managed construction of apartments, retail centers, commercial buildings, residential homes, concrete, and industrial construction. Mike married his wife Sandy, a Houstonian, in 1970. They currently reside on the west side of Houston, and enjoy a bay house in Galveston.
Mike established Ruppel Construction in 1972. Mike's 46 years of experiences include residential and commercial development, ground up construction in both fields, planning, estimating, commercial / retail buildout, concrete, and industrial construction.
For 38 years he has managed and run Ruppel Construction, relying on his attention to details and ability to coordinate projects with Pat and two superintendents, David and Marc, to propel the company into the future. In addition to his abilities to communicate with building owners and their managers, on site engineers, architects, space planners, real estate brokers and construction consultants, Mike has made Ruppel Millon a key asset to any construction job.
In 1994 Mike merged with Pat Millon, a fellow contractor, to form what is now Ruppel Millon, LP. dba Ruppel Construction. The partnership allows us to do more of each project in house rather than sub-contract. Mike focuses more on exterior construction aspects while Pat focuses on interior projects such as drywall, making them the perfect team. "I was apprenticed in the old school, when a contractor was a full service contractor and did all phases in house. Although City Codes don't allow that anymore we try to keep as much as possible in house to insure quality control." |

Pat Millon emigrated from France at the age of twelve in 1967. Three years after graduating from high school, he founded Horizon Drywall that thrived in the eighties. He then began a career as a General Contracting after opening Horizon Builders, a division of Horizon Drywall.
In 1994, while working as a commercial interior finishing contractor, Pat had the opportunity to partner with Mike Ruppel and formed Ruppel Millon, LP. Pat focuses more on interior construction such as drywall while Mike focuses on the exterior, making them the perfect team.
Pat's ability to coordinate with Mike and two superintendents, David and Marc, as well as his abilities to communicate with building owners and their managers, on site engineers, architects, space planners, real estate brokers and construction consultants has kept Ruppel Millon on top of the construction business.
Here we call ourselves the "French Connection," and since the merge, Ruppel Millon has never looked back and has enjoyed a successful 15-year run that will continue into the future.
